Treatment Technician
 
The Treatment Technician reports to the Technician Supervisor and is responsible for overseeing the activities of daily living of each resident.  Activities include overseeing housekeeping, food preparation and clean up and helping insure the YWCA continues to be a safe, clean and drug free home to its residents.
Skills Required:
 
A high school diploma or at least two years of experience in a similar capacity.
Good supervisory/time management skills and proficiency for soliciting resident acceptance and buy-in to required activities and assigned chores.
Knowledge of the basic concepts of case management, particularly the importance of participation in staffing decisions made about program residents.
Comfortable with confidential information guidelines, directing requests from outside the program to the program’s counselors.
Good organizational ability, flexibility, resourcefulness and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals of varied backgrounds and to work as part of a team.
Must be willing to work all shifts, though consideration will be given to each individual’s personal situation.
Must have a curent valid driver's licence
 
Responsibilities:
 
Work directly with residents overseeing housekeeping duties, food preparation and clean-up.  Provide support and direction in resident decision making and problem solving.
Comply with state of Iowa guidelines regarding food preparation.  Maintains refrigerator and freezer temperature checks. Provide summary notes in the staff log reporting concerns, variances, and notable occurrences.
Be available to check personal belongings of those coming into the building from outside. 
Perform thorough room checks daily and document same. 
Participate in staff meetings, trainings and in-services as required.
Provide documentation of dispensing prescription drugs from the locked drug cabinet and witnesses resident compliance with their prescribed drug regimen.
Manage the weekly chore sheet for each floor assuring that assigned responsibilities are completed satisfactorily and expediently. Perform cleaning duties as outlined on shift task list.
Perform random or directed Urine Analysis tests when warranted.
Treatment Technicians are mandatory reporters for child and dependent adult abuse.  Completes required training within 1 month of hire and follows procedures outlined in policy and procedure guidelines.
Maintain the confidentiality of all YWCA residents.
 
Hours of Work:
Up to 40 hours per week; must be willing to work all shifts.
